Tanzania Pyrethrum Board was established by an Act of Parliament No. 1 of 1997 with its amendments made under the 'Crops Law' (Miscellaneous Amendments), 2009. Essentially the core function is regulating pyrethrum sub sector that provide great benefit to the development of the pyrethrum industry in the country. In addition, among other responsibilities of the Board are regulatory functions include managing crop quality, issuing various licenses & permits to stakeholders, collecting and disseminating to stakeholders various data related to their products including marketing ones.

Good Governance: TPB is an autonomous regulatory body determined to complying with the Rule of in enforcing the Pyrethrum Act No. 1 of 1997, 'Crops Law' (Miscellaneous Amendments), 2009 and TPB Regulations and Rules 2015 (legal frame work) for the full protection of all the pyrethrum stakeholders in a transparent, equitable, accountable and inclusive manner. We exercise prudence in policy-setting and decision-making and make sure that the best interests of all stakeholders are taken into account.
